However, since the total depth of Metod is somewhat greater than that of Faktum due to the suspension rail, the representation in the Metod online planner might be correct. I assume it should be possible to screw the rotated base cabinet to the kitchen wall if it has no legs at the back.

Well, I didn’t have a tape measure with me, but since some kitchens were installed so “unattractively” with the gap at the tall cabinets (an IKEA pencil easily fit in with some play), I conclude that the carcass dimensions have not changed much or at all.

Man, if I had known that, I would have documented all the measurements, but as I said, I was just there as a tourist without needing a kitchen myself anytime soon.

Before more questions arise, the fronts are identical to Faktum, only with different dimensions and, of course, the names are different.

the dimension of the corpus (LxW) is identical to Faktum. Only the rail and the hooks for hanging add 1.5 cm. So leave out the rail and hooks and connect the cabinets to each other and to the wall.

PS: Whether waiting for Metod is worth it, you have to decide when you stand in front of it. In general, there are big pros and cons with Faktum and Metod.

So in my case, the rail and hooks are the advantage. This means the base cabinet protrudes 1.5 cm more into the room, and if I add a 60 cm base cabinet turned next to it, it might work out that the side panel of the turned cabinet is flush with the front of the adjoining cabinet. With Faktum, I would have taken a 50 cm cabinet with an insert strip as the turned base cabinet. With Metod, it could work that I take a 60 cm cabinet without an insert strip.

I think I will need my kitchen from spring 2014. Assuming Metod comes out in Austria and Slovakia in June 2014, then I will probably only have to wait a few months. And I think to myself: Better to wait a bit but then be able to change the fronts in the future. Let’s see how it turns out...

Excuse me for revisiting this old thread, but the topic is currently relevant for me: I want to install the base cabinet in my new Ikea kitchen rotated at the front right, so that its front faces forward as shown in the picture: Has anyone done this before: I think it should generally be possible as the dimensions should work: Total depth of a base cabinet: 59cm carcass 1cm wall rail 1.9cm Bodbyn front=61.9cm Total width of the rotated base cabinet: 60cm carcass 1.2cm cover side=61.2cm However: The rotated base cabinet would not be next to a "normal" base cabinet but would connect to the dishwasher by means of a 20cm filler strip! So the dishwasher is located immediately after the sink. The 20cm filler strip would be necessary to compensate for the depth of the Stenstorp cabinet. My concerns: - If the cover side of the rotated base cabinet and the dishwasher front are at the same height, the rotated base cabinet would have a 7mm gap to the wall. How can I cover this gap? Or is it not necessary? - How do I "connect" the rotated base cabinet to the dishwasher? Actually, I only need to somehow "extend" the left cover side of the rotated base cabinet with another cover side, this second, approx. 20cm wide cover side could only be mounted to the rotated base cabinet or the countertop.
