And does this come at the expense of noise and sound insulation? I have only heard in connection with windows that thermal insulation goes hand in hand with reduced sound insulation. Or also the neighborhood conflicts regarding the noise level of heat pumps. (For considerable additional costs, of course (as almost everywhere) one gets the maximum/best of both worlds.) To put it simply, less heating, more noise, I would find that a bad trade-off. However, due to lack of expertise, I cannot make a final assessment.
You are already discussing the details. I am thinking more fundamentally. The approach of freedom is: I decide whether photovoltaic or not. Whether olive or thuja or beech. Whether SUV or Polo, whether Tesla or Audi, whether plane or train. Or bus. - The state may promote one direction, through subsidies or something else, but has neither to punish nor even forbid the other. Why not? Because it has no duty to educate!
