Is a garage interior depth of 570 cm sufficient for future cars?

I primarily consider a garage as a place where the car sleeps. If it wants to play, you take it out.

Are there now cars with pull-out tables or similar? I don’t understand this sentence at all, none of my cars got longer because I opened the trunk. Usually, it just got higher at the back. But what do I know. Since we also planned our garage (unfortunately not built yet), I can add that 5.30m interior width is too little, you will regret it your whole garage life... we will probably end up with 5.80m and I fear that’s already almost too tight. According to the plan, your door is a custom-made one with a width of 5.10m? Most have 5m, so you are above average if that dimension is correct, but that doesn’t help much overall. Therefore, I would also tackle the topic of "storage room".

So the tailgate of my Polo extended the car; when it rained, you could stand somewhat dry in front of the trunk because the tailgate acted as a roof. I assume this is similar for many cars. Then there are cars whose tailgate opens not upwards but to the side.

Until the W123, this still applied to the notchback sedan; since the W124, the part with the license plate lifts up due to the lower loading edge. Pull-out floors exist, nowadays from several manufacturers - I do not know explicitly about the Superb model, but in this class, it already exists.

Thank you for your input. Originally, I had planned for the full width and to include the 1.25m in the recess. It fit well, then the architect came along with the floor area ratio and asked where the staircase to the roof terrace (on the garage) is, which must also be included in the floor area ratio. I have now considered a spiral staircase, I think I will plan an even smaller steep staircase, which I can improve myself if someone ever inspects and complains.

I had told the architect that a 5m gate would be installed, thought he knew what he was doing and therefore did not question the 5.1m. So it has to be 5m, thanks!

I go into the garden and the house on the right side. I have a strangely shaped plot, please don’t ask about that :D

Yes exactly, the trunk opening often swings out, especially with station wagons, which are already long anyway. I thought therefore that the length is my biggest problem. I cannot deviate from the width in the "storage room part" because of the closed construction. I could at most make it smaller in length, but make the garage minimally wider, which hardly helps.

The building application has not been submitted yet. Only a building inquiry due to the complicated conditions is currently running.

Do you have any other ideas on how I could loosen the floor area ratio issue? Steep staircase in the application. Anything else?

Attached is the drawing with the staircase.
