The flooring can also be laid at the end, we did it that way in the basement because otherwise it would have been too stressful for us. However, the door frames must then be installed accordingly higher by the thickness of the flooring (possibly plus adhesive in the case of tiles, for example) plus 2-3 mm clearance. Also, especially with click laminate, it is of course a bit fiddly, but with our tiles in the basement it was no problem; we could simply slide them under the frame and you don’t see any difference compared to the tiles in the other rooms where they were installed in front of the doors.

You probably saw on my blog that we painted a room (our gentleman’s room ) that way?

White doors also stand out nicely against a light gray base wall color as well as all sand tones (see above at )

Of course, I don't know all surfaces and surely they have improved over time, but I can still very well remember that both in my childhood and before building the house we often had white doors and these were always yellowed around the handle. It may be that others always close the door by the handle, but my experience (and observation also with other people) is that the door is also closed by the leaf itself, which over time leads to exactly these discolorations, which depending on the surface can hardly be completely removed. Besides, I just find white too sterile, even though it naturally goes with everything. However, to say that wood is just a passing trend and then to best lay expensive real wood parquet (in oak) seems to me somewhat contradictory as well...

We deliberately chose simple CPL-coated, white interior doors and stainless steel lever handle fittings; easy to maintain and stable enough for toddlers. We left some walls white, others got color; I create atmosphere with rugs and seasonal decoration.

I think Yvonne means - she will correct me if she has different ideas on this - that one eventually tires of colorful doors, whether wood or actual paint, and that this limits furnishing and changing the flooring. Probably roughly the same reasons why I usually advise against dyed-through windows - with very few exceptions - in my consultations.

Rhenish greetings
