Still, it is questionable whether the amount is justified. And shift work is by no means an argument. Or what should the police officers say, who work night shifts, weekend shifts, etc. for an extra 0.80 - 3 euros per hour. Firefighters, elderly care workers, nurses, etc. not excluded.
It’s no coincidence that many police officers switch to Igm companies because they simply pay above average.
And especially in northern Hesse, it is the case that VW pays extremely well and that is reflected in small urban areas where the majority of people cannot spread out.

Sorry for spamming, but I couldn’t leave the sympathy post for Igm members uncommented.

Of course, I can also be mistaken or draw wrong conclusions sometimes. When I read the derogatory categorization related to that, I don’t want to believe that I am completely wrong with my unpleasant feeling.

It’s not forbidden to have such a view of people, but I take the liberty to feel sick when I read things like that.
The others press overpaid dumb buttons while I am always performing world-changing actions. A common symptom in self- or external perception. Ask the other side and the opinion about you sounds identical, but one prefers not to ask :D
VW pays and doesn’t just give anything away to employees, otherwise it would mean that these highly paid VW decision-makers would all be even bigger "idiots" because they pay the "button-pressing idiots" so highly! o_O.

People like to speak disparagingly about other professions without really knowing them as a whole while at the same time naturally presenting themselves as an irreplaceable pillar of the institution, of course underpaid. :D:D
Life gets easier if you identify someone else as the guilty fool. By the way: The worst are overpaid teachers with too many holidays, naturally lazy civil servants, and also the self-employed, who can deduct everything anyway. All these well-known, flat phrases from people who have never really done it themselves and only want to improve their dull feelings that way. ugh.
Real idiots sit in often bloated mediocre "management" and babble so disparagingly about their foot soldiers. There is a nice story about an eight in rowing, where management replaces more and more rowers with additional coxswains until in the end only one rower remains but there are 8 coxswains in the boat. They even throw the last guilty rower out :D..........

Sure... from others..., never experienced it yourself? Just dump a bucket of manure over these unknowns, then maybe I’ll feel better about it someday too.

That’s right!
If you’ve never worked shifts, you don’t know any better and should better keep your mouth shut about it instead of babbling. Shift work is family-unfriendly, harmful to health and social life. If it were all so great and easy, then just do it yourself :D

No, that’s arrogant and contemptuous, and the quoted buddies are not to blame, of course, they are victims of the overpaid button-pushers.

When is something justified? It is the employer’s offer. What should bother me if such a worker is indeed "overpaid"? The standard that it is always the others who are lazy and overpaid fools is boring.

In the last two decades, police officers generally (not everyone!) have received significant salary upgrades through drastic changes in the career system, which have not occurred elsewhere. Nevertheless, one may ask the same question about fair pay for them just as elsewhere. Unfortunately, less money goes into shift work there as well.
