@Ikea expert! Thanks for the tip about the different front widths! I looked at it again on the website of the Faktum repurchase service. For Faktum, the Applad fronts are 59.6 mm wide and for Metod, the Veddinge fronts are 59.7 mm wide. I am very precise when adjusting the screws for drawers and hinges to achieve the best possible alignment for uniform gap dimensions. Do you think it will be very noticeable if I have to tolerate half a millimeter per side?
I would have even more tinkering with the under-counter fridge instead of a built-in fridge. I would either have to extend the countertop over it or work with wall brackets at the back and sides to get an add-on cabinet for the oven above the fridge. Of course, I looked at the option with the HUTTRA fridge, but I am looking for an extremely quiet model where you can at least set compressor start lockout periods so that it only runs very rarely at night (it is a studio apartment, meaning the kitchen is in a sleeping area). With under-counter fridges, it will almost be as difficult as with dishwashers to get third-party IKEA-compatible devices. Also, I am not a fan of devices that are just squeezed between the kitchen units; in every second kitchen (whether IKEA or not), the fully integrated dishwasher is the weak point when it comes to uniform line flow. Fronts on Blum hinges can be adjusted more precisely than fixed door fronts or dishwasher fronts (only with BSH dishwashers is this somewhat well solved with the adjustable Velcro fasteners before the final front screwing). Therefore, I prefer a fridge for the 88 cm niche, which also gives me a good selection from many manufacturers in the future.
What generally surprises me: IKEA switched from Faktum to Metod even though there are no fridges/freezer combos for Metod front dimensions without working with an additional storage intermediate shelf. For dishwashers, IKEA simply accepted that at least the manufacturer Electrolux had to adapt for Metod. Thus, from the start there were suitable dishwashers from AEG, and the BSH group promptly followed suit to bring vario-hinge models for 80cm fronts onto the market. With fridges, IKEA would have similar power over manufacturers. But they do neither: no large front selection like back in the Faktum days, no device selection exactly for Metod niche dimensions.
