Is there anything new from Whirlpool? For the OTROLIG cooktop, I see something about a 2.2 kW booster, and nothing stronger can be found on Whirlpool’s sites either – maybe under another label (Bauknecht)? Even simpler Miele cooktops have a 3 kW booster, larger ones go up to 5.5 kW (if you even need that).

Speed has less to do with the max power consumption of the cooking zone. Whirlpool, Bauknecht belongs to them, normally induction operates in the range of 20 to 60 kHz, with Whirlpool I think it goes up to 68 kHz and the winding of the coils is somewhat different, they have patented that.

I myself have had a Nutid from Elch for 9 years and once tested it with the same pot against another brand among acquaintances, my friend did not want to believe it. 2 liters of water in a 12 cm pot, Nutid was 35 seconds faster, kW of the zone was equal except for 0.1.

A dishwasher is a dishwasher, and yet even the Tupperware dries in BSH machines, they are also the only ones with licenses for zeolite, another patent.

You write that Whirlpool has the best induction cooktops and the greatest microwave technology. If that is the case, then I don’t understand why Whirlpool is keeping it secret. Every other manufacturer advertises their innovations and advantages, Whirlpool / Bauknecht conceals them. No manufacturer can be that foolish.

@Ikea expert, no idea why, but advertising claims must be verifiable, what is Whirlpool / Bauknecht supposed to say "Our cooktops are X.xx minutes faster than ..." ? Just on the day the brochures are printed, the commercials filmed, manufacturer ZY releases a cooktop where the time specification differs by Y.yy minutes and then there is a warning for unfair competition. Or gas condensing boilers, there are actually time differences between manufacturers. With microwaves, they advertise with 3-D, but the patent expired in 2014/2015, so everyone can legally replicate this technology. Siemens also only advertises with Zeolite, but not that it is patented and only BSH has the license, only the ® indicates this, does every consumer know that a patent/utility model protection is behind it?

I’m curious what you finally decided on? I’m now facing a similar problem, looking for an induction cooktop and really don’t know which models are any good and which aren’t. So I kind of stole this thread here ^^

It would be really great if someone could say something about it. I’ve already tried to get information online, visited various sites like here, and compared some models - still, I’m very unsure

Do you also think it’s worth buying online? Or is it better to go to the local electronics dealer?
