Generally, thanks already for your tips and ideas.. I need to take a closer look at some of the points with a bit more time over the weekend. There are definitely some good hints that will help us further.

Well, then just build it. But don’t reduce the value of the actual house by doing so. A conservatory can be nice if it is planned along with the house right from the start and not just slapped onto a finished house. You already have generously sized extensions on the house anyway. At some point, it looks ridiculous to bulge out a rectangular building everywhere. Personally, I don’t find the living room adjacent to the parents’ area nice either – that also shows poor planning. However, I wouldn’t want to criticize that here now. Well, I am a fan – and usually it’s also the better decision – to rearrange the floor plan. The hallway in a reasonable size (so somewhat smaller) and daylight where you actually need it. My first approach would probably be, without revisiting the plan in detail now, to place the designated living area over the bedroom in the plan and thus get a larger window front or possibilities for more daylight. I am currently the only one left here who is still doing planning – if you can be patient for a few days … at the moment I am trying to fix an idea for a parallel thread.

Through your storage room runs a long line - that would be exactly the spot where I would allocate it partly to the kitchen and the utility room. Then you still have a huge wall unit in the kitchen for the oven, steam cooker, etc., or simply cabinets. On the back side, there is a shelf for kitchen supplies that you can access through the utility room....

I just can't get used to the look. Somehow it feels like a settlement house from the 50s that has just been poorly extended over and over again, where they simply added a cube on the ground floor. The small gable roof looks lost and undersized. On the one hand, the whole thing is due to the high floor space requirement on the ground floor and on the other hand, for example, the long roofing over the entrance and garage. Is there a reason why you want to sleep on the ground floor?

In my opinion, the garage goes in the north and the sleeping area as well. Entrance then in the west.

Something like that.

I can understand the comparison and would approach the roofing and facade design differently. I would stage the feature of the projected living space differently and try to bring some light from above into the potentially dark dining area. Of course, I don’t know the original poster’s reason, but I can say that it’s great to be able to go straight from the sleeping area and the bathroom into nature. Not having to cross the house for that is less a matter of laziness or steps for me and more allows me, in stressful times, to start the day with movement without having to pass anything that reminds me of tasks and duties. I get up, go out into the garden or forest, smell the fresh scent, listen to the birds, and take some time. Sometimes before, sometimes after the shower. I no longer want to miss this occasional ritual.
