I just can’t come to terms with the look. Somehow it feels like a small settlement house from the 50s that has just been poorly extended again and again.
I can understand the comparison and would approach the roofing and facade design differently. I would stage the feature of the projected living space differently and try to bring some light from above into the potentially dark dining area.
Is there a reason why you want to sleep on the ground floor?
Of course, I don’t know the original poster’s reason, but I can say that it’s great to be able to go straight from the sleeping area and the bathroom into nature. Not having to cross the house for that is less a matter of laziness or steps for me and more allows me, in stressful times, to start the day with movement without having to pass anything that reminds me of tasks and duties. I get up, go out into the garden or forest, smell the fresh scent, listen to the birds, and take some time. Sometimes before, sometimes after the shower. I no longer want to miss this occasional ritual.
