Improvement suggestions for single-family house floor plan - ideas?

I would also test a draft where you rotate the house. What bothers me on the upper floor is that the bedroom is next to the child's room. That could be avoided that way.

Rotating the house is out of the question because a photovoltaic system will be installed on the roof, so the planned orientation is optimal.

In such cases, I often suspect: if the rejected drafts were also shown — of course with comments on why they are not an option — the fellow discussants could be guided more precisely. But that's just a general remark on such situations; in the specific case of this thread, it seems to be progressing anyway.

One draft had a single-story extension in the southeast for the kitchen, which would then have been "separated" from the living room. The other draft had the house entrance under the carport. But we want the house entrance facing the street.

If it doesn’t fail because of financial reasons, then just take one meter more.

Well, that would already be quite a few more square meters. Financial limits are eventually reached anyway. Besides, the plot is not very large either.

So, we have now drawn a new draft. Compared to the first draft, we have mainly changed the following:

- House overall 25 cm wider
- Living room and kitchen swapped
- Hallway slightly wider
- Office on the ground floor removed
- Small storage room on the ground floor newly added
- On the upper floor, office instead of dressing room
- On the upper floor, children's room and bedroom swapped
