Morning Maverick, thanks for asking, here is the current report

1. I have not heard anything from the customer service
2. nor from the company Bauknecht either
3. on the 29th around 8 pm a lady called saying they want to deliver a refrigerator to me on 01.4. [b]at[b] 11 am,
we agreed on "from 2 pm". Half an hour later the lady called again, had spoken to the driver, they can only make it
[b]at[b] 2:30 pm. I said no stress, I will be there, to which the lady said it was nice that I wanted to wait,
and she suggested setting 3 pm firmly.
4. On Wednesday I then called the furniture store right away, who gave me an appointment for Thursday 07.4. There
the fronts are supposed to be installed and small things are to be done that are pending. Unfortunately, the
replacement door due to the damage will only arrive at the company in week 19.
5. Friday at 2:50 pm the doorbell rang, "we just wanted to check if anything is happening yet"

Two very nice gentlemen came with the new device and were very surprised that the old one was removed. Quick as a flash,
the two exchanged the device (although there was a small technical problem which the two solved spontaneously and
uncomplicatedly). They said they received a call from customer service on Monday asking if the device was already there,
which they had to deny. Then apparently on Tuesday came the notice that Ikea (yes, you read that right, the device was
delivered directly by Ikea (who drove past my place on their way to the two gentlemen 25 km away)) delivered it on Thursday,
which is when the lady tried to reach me immediately.

I wonder if all this happened because of the email to Bauknecht or if it was just a coincidence

It was said I could connect the refrigerator in two hours since it was not tilted much. I did not want to get annoyed
even though I was curious and turned it on on Saturday, of course again with the thermometer inside.

It is a bit louder than the first one, and at "just switched on, i.e. less than level 1" the lower drawer cools down to
3.8 and the upper to 5 degrees. That is of course a significant improvement,
although the lady at Bauknecht customer service who was at the "on-site customer service" and also the two gentlemen said
5-7 would be optimal (which you also read everywhere).

By the way, I asked, the gentlemen do not work for Bauknecht or customer service, but receive (among others) their orders
from the latter. They have also done customer service for them before. When I asked if I could order them directly in case of warranty,
the answer was no. But I could try through customer service and express the wish. My neighbor, who was there, just said,
"they are certainly glad if they don't have to come here anymore". That would of course make more sense since they live 25 km
and not 90 km away.

What do you (or other readers) think, is the temperature okay? I personally still find it a bit cold since it is already on the lowest setting.
Should I consider the matter settled now (apart from the damaged door)?

Looking forward to your (your) opinion on this, regards Leicht

Glad that the annoying issue is now off the table...

At level one it cools down to 5 degrees and at level 2? to 4 degrees?, that would be okay. That way you get to about 0 degrees at level 5. It would be very cold, but it’s okay, or am I wrong? Or has the temperature shifted upwards? Basically after starting up and settling?

If not, then I find that okay now and I could personally live with it.

Hey, nice that you answered. He has almost fully settled in. The lower compartment shows 3.5 and the upper compartment 4.8, but it is not on level 1 but "just barely on". I also find it quite cold, but oh well...... By the way, it only goes up to level 4.5! But I don't dare to go that high, who knows what might happen

Then start it slowly. With one level. Check after an hour and so on...

Otherwise, have fun with the fridge or should I better say with the freezer?

No need to start slowly, since it’s already so cold anyway
But something else, I wanted to share something from Bauknecht, where I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

“On-site customer service” called on 05.4., wants to come on 11.4. because someone from Bauknecht called there,
saying that the new device is louder than the old one and still quite cold. Ok, but they actually come after 1 p.m., the kitchen installer wasn’t there yet.

On 08.4. I received a letter from Bauknecht (from the lady who also called the “on-site CS!”), informing me that they want to pick up my fridge and refund the purchase price (which is not a duty but a courtesy). I’m supposed to send in the purchase receipt and the sticker from the device as well as bank details. Nice, right!?
Only stupid that, according to the letter, it is the device from last year, which was exchanged on 01.04.

Yesterday at noon I had a call on the answering machine from about 10:30 a.m., “Customer service… we’re not coming today,
since you already received a letter from Bauknecht!”

Question: How does the warranty actually work with the replaced device? I got it on 01.04., but there were no documents with it. I asked Bauknecht, but haven’t received an answer yet. At the moment it is apparently (or not) known through the correspondence that it is a different device, but what about in, for example, four years or in case of sale!? Customer service wants to see the number (which I have on the device) and the purchase receipt. Regards, Leicht

Quite simple:

Purchase date = start of warranty.
In the case of replacement (AT) of the device, the warranty does not extend nor does it start over. That is the legal situation. Normally, it should be noted on the receipt if a replacement of the device has taken place. But at IKEA it is simpler, because every replacement of a device is recorded at IKEA, provided IKEA initiated the replacement. If it is done by Bauknecht, I do not know if they record it internally.

I hope this explains your question...
