I find the solution from very pragmatic, I would not assume instability. Some people come under cost pressure during construction. Using leftovers like this is extremely clever, sustainable, and functional. Very likeable. Besides, this is not exactly a representative area. Therefore, a "like" as well.

Why is there no explanation from ? Or was the question about depth or breadth too personal?

Instead of Billy with a depth of 28 cm, Ivar with a depth of 30 cm is the more practical system.

And, I fully agree with hampshire there, especially IVAR is super easy to customize. You can also quickly have narrower shelves cut at the hardware store, that’s how I filled my wall row in my storage room. Or a friend slightly sawed off the back legs at the bottom of the side parts because she had a 1 cm deep and 8 cm high baseboard there, but the shelf was supposed to stand flush against the wall. Above all, there are now several inserts for IVAR that you can use well, and the system has been around for decades, so it complements well.

Nevertheless, with Ivar, Pax, Billy and all the others, there are these, in my opinion, annoying intermediate supports. With the rail system, the shelf is continuous and always easily adaptable to the available length.

But everyone has to decide that for themselves. If I had had a few Ivars left over, maybe they would have ended up in the pantry - but they all ended up in the basement...

Oh dear, oh dear, and for that even likes. I do not appreciate anything junk room-like in the house, therefore no basements or attics either. I want it to be "nice" everywhere.

With the Billys and Ivars, I estimate that even after years you can still buy doors for them if you prefer to have cabinets due to dust or something else.
