Leave him be, he just wants to cause some trouble ;)

If he knew anything, he would have at least written a couple of lines to explain.

Electric cars are a much, much smaller problem than fan heaters.

Fan heaters do indeed run through.
Moreover, it is many times harder to restart the grid with fan heaters on it compared to electric cars.

You can find plenty of more details and calculations on the internet.
As always, it's a shame that you can't post sources here...

That is exactly my thought: Everyone has their heating devices connected to the grid and wants to be the first to heat up again when the power returns. But it simply does not return. The grid operators and energy suppliers will then issue appeals through the media asking people to please turn off all their power guzzlers. But the message does not get through because radio, TV, and the internet also do not work without power.

Someone with a masonry heater in the house is probably in the best position, unless their wood gets stolen at night.

-Photovoltaic system with storage and emergency power function. In winter, always leave at least 2.5 KWh in the storage. You can only use what still comes in via the sun. Better than nothing and silent as well. -For the basement window (=shooting slit), I am currently making an insert: a board with a 70mm opening for a warm air hose as well as a 12V power cable. In the light shaft comes a diesel car parking heater with 5 KW output, the warm air duct then leads through the insulated board into the HAR and is extended into the stairwell and distributed there (warm air rises). Or possibly partially supplied to the controlled residential ventilation intake air. Additionally, 4x20-liter cans of diesel as fuel. In the light shaft, a muffled exhaust runs upwards. The power for the parking heater comes from the emergency power supply. Roughly enough for 4 weeks of heating, otherwise hopefully there is still some in the diesel car :p

Ah. Our pianist pays us the annual visit. In this episode: how I prepare myself slightly panicked because of the stupid others who make everything panicky through their panic. I'll grab the popcorn and wait until the topic of power outage is linked with his fear of burglary and the panic room...

Burglary? Panic room? I can’t remember ever asking about that here. Generally, however, I am interested in shaping my life in such a way that I am spared from problems of any kind as much as possible.
