Am I the only one to whom all this sounds so contrived?! Allegedly having experienced and tried so many things. Dozens of friends at every hand, with whom one can go for a drink anytime or go to the gym as desired.
But at the same time completely insecure, uninspiring, and unimaginative.

Maybe I’m trying to put you in a box and just can’t find the right one. I admit it. In any case, I don’t know anyone like you.

No sh*t Sherlock.

Fastpass. Costs money, actually improves the quality of life on site.

Regarding your statements about Disneyland: do you really have children???
I come with Disneyland, and you’re telling me about missing authenticity.
Do you watch a Disney movie with them and get upset the whole time that the princess stories aren’t portrayed in the correct historical context? Or that the construction of the Death Star would have unrealistically required too many resources and is therefore nonsense?

I repeat myself... something’s not right here.
No father would make statements like that.

I never claimed that.

For example, I saved up for a musical instrument. An instrument and lessons are both an investment as well as a fulfilling and challenging, relatively "immaterial" hobby. Depending on the instrument, it will probably outlive its owner.

and then again from you

All I can say is, described it perfectly

It’s not about dividing your leftover money into “our dreams”, but into YOURS, and if you currently don’t have any, then see DaGoodness.

You can only live your own life framework and not that of XYZ.

and the conclusion is

Exactly, tried very many things. Traveled a lot, etc... my own ideas are slowly running out. For example, there are also things that I categorically exclude. We have, for example, a pure ornamental garden; in my life I would never enjoy growing my own food, beekeeping or something similar. I know people who are passionate about such things. And you know what... let them do it. I neither have to understand it nor do it myself. But they can gladly do that and I understand that they have original joy in it – because people are simply different.

That is completely irrelevant here. I was suggested to invest 1,000 or 2,000 euros more per month in quality of life, so I am now looking for suggestions because I myself can't think of much anymore. You don't need to put me in a box for that, whether fitting or not. You also don't need to know me for that. The issue is, how can I spend an additional 1,000 - 2,000 euros per month to improve my quality of life, as was recommended to me. I want to explore this suggestion further and not write about which box I might fit into or not.

Yes, 2.

No.

No, no – everything is fine here. Even if it weren't – the issue now (since I want to accept this suggestion here) is: How do I invest 1,000 - 2,000 euros per month in quality of life. This is completely independent of whether I like Disneyland or not.

Yes, yes – and always remember: people are different. I accept that your best idea of a holiday is Disneyland. Thousands of people go there daily. For us, it is nothing.

Exactly, and that's why you have to develop your own ideas of possibly improved quality of life.

A good suggestion, thank you very much! It also annoys me a bit that I never learned one. I also always had the memory that I liked playing on grandma’s piano for fun, but I never had lessons.

Our children will learn instruments. The older one has already been learning an instrument for several years (and even before that we took every offer the music school had... from early musical education, dance classes, etc...). Hopefully, the younger one will also learn in a few years; at least we will enable her to learn an instrument of her choice and maybe get to know some instruments beforehand.

As for myself, I have more or less decided against it. It would be nice, but nothing that really excites me internally or that I would now be willing to invest several hours a week in.

(By the way, the same goes for learning languages, which is often a topic as well. I can speak English conversationally due to work. For two other languages, only the absolute basics, and since I often deal with colleagues from all over Europe or the USA: English alone is more than sufficient and simply a global language.)
