For example, I have already tried various sports (at a level with teachers and courses for at least 6 months, sometimes years, including golf, tennis, and swimming, but also many other things). I always ended up back in the gym, where I can work out individually at my own pace, have balance, and do something for my health. Sometimes alone or with friends – depending on the mood of the day.
And I have checked out all the hip and expensive gyms in the city and still ended up where I always was – simply the best choice in terms of clientele, equipment, occupancy, etc.
We (the adults) have already been to the USA several times (together, alone, during our relationship, even before... NYC, LA, Chicago, Las Vegas, SF, California, Florida... and also smaller, unknown places). As soon as it’s possible with the kids, we will certainly take longer, bigger trips again. Our little one is 2 years old – I don’t want to subject her to long trips and lots of walking through cities (too big for the stroller, too little to walk a kilometer at a stretch). Therefore, we currently restrict ourselves to Europe and tend to do city trips rather afterwards (we have already been to many places in Europe... London, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Rome, Milan, Venice, Monaco/Nice/Cannes, Prague, Budapest, Sofia, etc... and also many smaller towns/cities/secondary cities like Lyon, Bergamo, Antwerp, Marseille, Rotterdam, etc... – you still have to save a bit for 40+, or we will surely visit some cities again).
Currently, the best vacation with the kids is simply some beach and pool in Mallorca, Greece & Co. – 4 stars and up, family-friendly and close to the beach. We usually book without food and then always go eat somewhere nice locally that appeals to us. Different place every day.
Am I the only one to whom all this sounds so contrived?! Allegedly having experienced and tried so many things. Dozens of friends at every hand, with whom one can go for a drink anytime or go to the gym as desired.
But at the same time completely insecure, uninspiring, and unimaginative.
Maybe I’m trying to put you in a box and just can’t find the right one. I admit it. In any case, I don’t know anyone like you.
Disneyland, without having dealt with it intensively, would really be the exact opposite of a nice, authentic vacation for me. Disneyland & cruises... – because for me those are really completely artificial environments
No sh*t Sherlock.
then you can stand in line for hours for a mediocre roller coaster ride or whatever.
Fastpass. Costs money, actually improves the quality of life on site.
Regarding your statements about Disneyland: do you really have children???
I come with Disneyland, and you’re telling me about missing authenticity.
Do you watch a Disney movie with them and get upset the whole time that the princess stories aren’t portrayed in the correct historical context? Or that the construction of the Death Star would have unrealistically required too many resources and is therefore nonsense?
I repeat myself... something’s not right here.
No father would make statements like that.
The expression did not come from me.
I never claimed that.
