Hello everyone,
I have acquired a 674 sqm corner plot with a slight slope and am racking my brain about the placement (primarily) and the floor plan (secondarily). I have attached pictures/screenshots so you have a better understanding. It concerns the plot with the number 23. The plan as well as the Google Maps screenshot are oriented north. The distance from the house to the neighbors must be 3 meters.

Framework conditions and my considerations: I will mainly live alone in the house. My son from a previous relationship will visit me during the holidays and should also have a room. Since I no longer want children, it should be a bungalow with about 100-105 sqm of living space. My focus is on an inexpensive construction method without much frills. Therefore, a basement is also not planned. The slope of the plot is about 3 meters. One small special feature is that the plot offers a view of the Swiss Alps in the southwestern part. Therefore, my idea was to place the house in the middle in order to use this area as a terrace. It is not visible on the Google Maps image, but my neighbor (no. 24) finished his house last month. On the advice of his architect, he leveled (or raised) his sloped plot and secured the east side with granite (I hope I described it correctly with my gibberish).

1. How would you place the house? I am extremely at a loss in this regard.
2. Does my idea of a bungalow make sense at the age of 41 combined with the completed family planning at all?

Thank you in advance for your help and please excuse the colloquial explanations and questions.

The first photo after the site plan, can you please explain from where it was taken? Basically, in your situation, single and with a child in your 40s _without_ final family planning, I would tend to go for a bungalow with the option of a simple attic conversion. So a gable roof and stairs. With the slope, that still needs to be looked at.

I agree with and maybe you can scan or set the plan section where you can also read number 23 in such a way that the contour lines present there can be seen. And one question, are you free to decide from which side a garage entrance should be?

The first picture after the site plan was taken from the west (see red x on the picture at the exit). The second picture shows the elevation meters. The second picture after the site plan is the view towards the Swiss Alps (southeast).

The direction of the garage entrance is up to me. Attached is an older picture of my neighbors (No. 24), which has now been completed. They placed the house with a 3m distance from the street.

But according to the elevation plan, the cross would be in the south … Southwest or southeast? Whatever! I wouldn't align my house based on just one view, since you rarely stand in front of the window just looking and looking and looking. Rather, I would arrange a bench outside so that one can linger there. But my suggestion combines both: insofar as the garage/carport is on the 24-side and the rectangular or L-shaped bungalow is adapted a bit higher to the terrain, so that the terrace faces south/southwest, thus rather towards house no. 6 or 8. I assume a hedge because of the street. The supporting foundation can be disguised with steps or plants. The pictures load poorly for me as I currently have bad WLAN at the campsite… then probably the view would be more understandable? Possibly plan the open living area facing south for the view. Attic with stairs: a multifunction room with window from where you can then see the Alps. This can also be done gable-side to the east…
