That would be better, but it is not so important. I write such an email after every conversation in which important content is to be recorded, because besides creating a file, it also serves to avoid communicative misunderstandings at a very early stage. With an email, non-receipt can still somehow be asserted. With five or more emails of this kind, it becomes somewhat more difficult, as it gives a completely different impression - especially if the email contact at the given address has worked once.
