Hello!

We want to build a hip roof house with 2 full floors and a basement.
Half of the garage is to be basemented as a pit, with direct access to the house basement.
The long hallway on the ground floor worries us the most in the current floor plan. We have planned a glass sliding door to the dining area. Will the hallway still be very dark? Does anyone have experience with daylight spots?

Would be very grateful for feedback and suggestions for improvement!!!

May I ask which program you used to create this? I really like everything! Except that you don’t have a door to the living room!

The plan was created with Sweet Home 3D. It can be downloaded for free.

A glass sliding door is planned on the slanted hallway wall towards the living room. Unfortunately, it is not visible in the plan, but it is there.

Wow, the house is going to be huge!
Well, I find the plan (for my taste) too ornate. I would shorten the hallway on the ground floor and go from the storage room into the dining area, then from there into the kitchen. The guest room is very spacious, intentionally?
I don't like at all that the children's rooms are in the north. As an adult, you are only in the bedroom at night anyway, children use the rooms during the day as well.

Thank you very much for the comments!
In an earlier version of the plan, we shortened the hallway on the ground floor exactly as suggested. However, since we like to carry groceries into the kitchen without taking off our outdoor shoes beforehand, we found the solution with direct access through the tiled hallway better. Parquet flooring is to be installed in the living/dining area.
The guest room is intentionally very spacious, as it is also meant to serve as an office and later as a bedroom in old age.

We also found the children's rooms in the north to be problematic but did not find a proper solution to accommodate two large rooms in the south, since the small children's bathroom is also supposed to have a window. Any suggestions?

I am not a fan of airspaces and galleries, so redistribution would not be difficult for me, but it is probably not the right thing for you. Possibly bedroom at the top left, then dressing room, master bathroom, children's room. Where the wardrobes are in the current dressing room would be the children's bathroom, and the current bedroom would be children's room/office. However, the children's room is then surrounded by 2 bathrooms, which is probably not ideal either. Try it out in the drawing program.
