We would also prefer if the tile had been laid all the way up to the riser. We have never seen this type of execution before. Is there no recognized standard of technology for this?

No, something like that must be said beforehand.

I don't find it that dramatic - at least you can see where the stairs start.

so with the staircase, there’s probably not much that can be done anymore. the height of the last granite piece is already fixed anyway; it was hardly cut on site. since a whole tile was started afterwards, it can’t just be replaced either. the whole hallway would have to be redone, and no one will accept that.

it’s different with the missing miter at a 90° corner. that really won’t do and can be replaced fairly easily. otherwise, there are a few things that don’t look great but are allowed as they are. the tiles also have some tolerances in some places.

ps: if someone claims that according to [DIN] higgledy-piggledy it’s allowed, ask to see the [DIN]. NOBODY actually has the [DIN], and they will fix it later ^^ they all bluff, I don’t know anyone who really has the [DIN].

So my tilers had the DIN ready – the screed layer as well. Or how did you mean that?

Excerpts are freely available and the complete DIN standards can be purchased, but you don't have to follow them if you don't want to... the same applies to the miter... if it was not agreed upon beforehand, then it is not owed and you can do it or not...
