I have now planned my Bodbyn Ikea kitchen in gray for the umpteenth time. But I have a problem: I have a gap on one side. We have a fairly new wood stove in the kitchen that is going to stay. The new kitchen will fit right next to it. A spacer has been considered. I am left with 79 mm. I don’t know how to close it. It’s too narrow for a towel holder. Leaving it open is also not good because it’s hard to clean inside and something will probably constantly fall in there, which is hard to retrieve. I already thought about using the baseboard vertically but it is 80 mm. So that won’t work. The crown molding is 6 cm, so that won’t work either. Using the countertop as a cover side doesn’t help either because there would still be a gap. Does anyone have a solution that looks good? Thanks in advance for urgently needed answers. Anita

We also have a gap in the current Ikea kitchen. It was planned exactly so that the narrowest drawer front fits vertically into it. Glued onto two square timbers. If you cannot get your gap to this matching size, you will probably have to use the circular saw to adjust a front (which then will not be rounded at the edges) - or you might get another tip

Simply put a cover in front. As my predecessor already said, have the drawer or cabinet front cut to width yourself on table saws or at a carpenter. It doesn't cost much and looks neat. By the way, this is also how it is done with "normal kitchens." The space is unfortunately lost, but kitchens are usually in 10cm increments.

The area can also be left open, but the countertop should be extended to the wall. The 79mm niche (are all the walls straight and at a 90-degree angle? Often there are discrepancies that are compensated with a gap) can then serve as a shelf for sheets standing upright. Otherwise, cut at a board/cabinet front [emoji2]

With us, it says broom in there. At least you can find it that way. However, there is a 12 cm gap next to the tall cabinet. The filler panel is still in the garage. We decided this during the kitchen assembly. Leave it open. It's practical. Karsten

Order the appropriate cover sheet. Take it to [Globus Baumarkt (etc.)], have it cut to size. Costs 1 euro.
