The problem with the windfang can easily be solved by moving the wall with the front door slightly outward. I also think that the pantry is not that great, especially because it is relatively small. My suggestion would be to maybe leave the niche of the chamber as it is, but to install two tall kitchen cabinets there instead.

So, I think

- you should completely omit the windbreak (more of a one-person airlock). The hallway practically has no light with the windbreak! Besides, the hallway is already like a larger windbreak due to the existing doors.
- swap the study/guest room and the utility room; if the study is used more often, light (west) is not so bad :)
Besides, I would always try to separate my private rooms from the guest rooms. So guest on one side, bedroom on the other. You can also move the entrance further east, currently the path from the carport to the front door, or with groceries to the kitchen, is very long.
- no door from the bathroom (south) to the outside! Or is that supposed to be just a window?
- the size and location of the pantry in this form is not helpful. Better to put the pantry all the way to the left on the west wall with a direct passage in the middle of the kitchen where the stove is now drawn.

- at the bottom left (southwest corner) I would place a covered terrace, but bigger than in the drawing, at least 3 x 4 m. Accordingly, the furniture in the living room must then be arranged differently. Seating area to the right against the wall, etc.

Wow, thanks for all your tips. This is initially just a "sketch" to see if the room layout makes sense. I will rethink it with the pantry, that's true, I also already found it awkward at the counter.

It is extremely important to me that the bedroom is well protected and located away from the living room/kitchen since I work shifts.

I will read through everything again later in peace; I am currently busy clearing out my "old" house, the first interested parties are coming on Monday.

Since the hallway leads into the living area, I do want a vestibule, so the exterior wall will have to be pushed out a bit.

The hatch with stairs to the attic: from which room? Utility room?

Thanks and have a great weekend, everyone.

Then I would still omit the windbreak (nowadays overrated anyway with tight doors and just a space eater) and make a nice glass door/double door to the living room.
The stairs are probably best accessed from the long hallway. The utility room usually has too much equipment...

Also, have a nice weekend :)
