You have a quiet office behind the living room. That’s quite secluded and should be enough.
How old is the development plan and what do the houses around look like? If they all behaved, I wouldn’t have too much hope. But the sloped ceilings in the children’s rooms are not the end of the world. Your bedroom could have a captain’s gable or something like that.
Exactly, purely rationally absolutely correct. The office on the ground floor was currently thought of more as a craft/hobby room for my wife, and later as a bedroom to be able to live all on one level. We really need to think carefully again about what we actually need and what we want to afford.
The development plan is from 1966 and there are only very few exceptions in the area. We are currently in talks with the city to find out if they would approve the building project as it stands. Possibly it could also come down to a slightly higher knee wall (the requirement is actually max 50 cm), the floor plan would at least allow for various alternatives.
We can also very well imagine a captain’s gable in the bedroom, yes! Possibly with an exposed roof truss...
Thanks again for the feedback! I’m already curious what you’ll say once we have made more progress on windows and so on.
