Al and I don't believe it
It looks as if someone tried to give a suburban house from the 60s a touch of Hornbach-style flair during the expanding renovation. Stylistically, this conglomerate seems to me to require a lot of clarification.

You can only get to the upper floor via the stairwell; that is the bottleneck, no matter what is up there.

You don't necessarily need a second window.....but maybe it's nice to have? Pragmatism yes, but without neglecting what is beautiful.

Having a plan for the use of rooms for "old age" already now is nice but probably more like drawing lottery numbers. Keep it as flexible as possible so you can react flexibly then.

Ok, of course everyone has their opinion, but you could support it a bit more concretely as to why you come to this conclusion.

Result is probably overstated. The house does not look like a new build. It does not look seamless. It looks as if a 1960s house for a large family was equipped with dormers. Dormers are nowadays a popular means to equip too-small settlement houses with standing space under the roof. Then there is the oversized garage extension...

Thanks for your feedback. The budget is of course always an important matter, but for us it hasn’t yet been finally decided how much we want to afford.

There have already been some good ideas on how to make the hallway on the ground floor brighter. We still want to work on and optimize that. It will be difficult in the attic, but there are already some initial approaches as well.

The utility room on the ground floor mainly serves as a "dirty airlock" between the garage and the living house. When the parents come back inside after gardening or when the children return after playing, we will love having access through the garage and the utility room. The laundry will probably still be washed and dried in the basement (partly dried outside in the garden when the weather is good) and ironed there.

The office will be used as a home office several days a week. To be able to work seriously and intensively, you need a certain setup and spatial distance. Working undisturbed on the ground floor and attic is very difficult. In recent years, we have had very good experiences with an office in the basement.

As I see it, you are building very large. If possible, you should try to actually keep the individual floors or optional apartments separate like their own condominiums. Life can be long and offer many scenarios: children grow older, people change, you yourself change. At the time, I didn’t think about laying heating, water, etc. separately. If it ever becomes a multi-family house, you will be glad you did. Additionally, it would significantly increase the sales price if necessary. If everything goes perfectly, that’s great; but if not, you don’t have a burden hanging on you that would be hard to sell. It’s like a contract between friends. You put it in the drawer and it’s nice if you don’t need it. If you do... you are prepared. And somehow I get the impression that you want to make everyone happy in every situation. That’s how the whole house works. Maybe you should also consider another planner and first bundle the real and currently foreseeable needs.
