I think the floor plan is quite good. Maybe my predecessors have already mentioned it, but a few details that I noticed.

[*]The kitchen has hardly any workspace.
[*]I would enlarge the guest WC around the corner of the garage and put a shower in there if you are planning with 2 children.
[*]I personally don’t find the position of the couch and TV optimal. The TV becomes a room divider. Maybe think again whether you really want it that way.

Thanks for the input, my opinion on that:
No matter how or what I build. It will always be positioned as far north and east as possible.
A garden behind the house is of no use to me. I also don't need privacy there. Apart from the bathroom, no rooms are oriented in that direction either.

[*]One option would be to extend the workspace around the corner. We would then have to do the pantry differently or not at all. [*]A shower in the guest WC would be a good idea. However, we are of the opinion that we don't need it. [*]Position TV: Even if it is not marked on the plan, if we implement it like this, a wall will be built here. The arrangement is not yet fixed.

I would think carefully about that point. Maybe have it rendered to get an impression of the space. You are visually shrinking the nice open-plan room.

It was really just a well-intentioned hint – our plot is arranged almost identically to yours, and I would definitely not set my house any further back in any way. We also have a front garden with a small terrace at the south, but there really is a "showpiece" feeling there (without massive privacy screening towards the street).

However, if you already live or have lived in a similar setup, then of course you should do/build what feels right for you.

I just think – looking back at our situation too – that people underestimate how sunny, for example, a north terrace actually is.

Since the street is a dead end and only 3 houses/properties come after us, we have less of the showcase plate problem. In addition, the main terrace in the west is protected from view. A terrace on the north side is certainly pleasant on hot summer days. I think we have two good seating options with the south and west sides depending on the time of day.
