I find the low knee wall of only 70 cm most disturbing, but that seems to be predetermined because of the eaves height - or?
Child 1 ... the bed can still be quite well accommodated in the niche by turning the bed 90°, with the headboard on the right in the high area.
But, in the master bedroom I don’t want to have to get out of bed. The 2 m height line would be too much in the room for me, and I would get claustrophobic under the sloping roof.
Is there a possibility to raise the knee wall? Or to choose a steeper roof?
On the ground floor, there would simply be too few windows on the sunny side for me. You can also see that very well in the view ... only the narrow (85 cm rough construction dimension) terrace door in the kitchen and the window at the dining table. The house side looks very uninviting there too.
I would probably place the living area more toward the bottom of the plan. Because of the sofa arrangement etc., there are more normal windows than floor-to-ceiling windows anyway. For that, kitchen and dining more toward the top of the plan and there then predominantly floor-to-ceiling windows also as exits to the terrace. That way you also have the sun in the morning with your first coffee .
Whether the platform staircase could be a solution would have to be precisely checked with a section drawing in the case of a 70 cm knee wall. I would find it nicer if the descent were exactly opposite the door to the central room. However, I would then consider placing the utility room instead of the study (pipes for the bathroom upstairs) and putting the study with shower bath and hallway toward the bottom of the plan. Then under different usage conditions the study can also be used as a guest room with bathroom.
