Was the fireplace always planned there? No.
I find it completely unnecessary in the corner. That’s something they used to do with tiled stoves... whatever the case may be. I think V2 is better for everyday life. I would place the sofa at the top of the plan and the TV on the bottom wall of the plan. If there is still a need for a cabinet, there is space on the left side of the plan. What do you have so much of that you need to store it in the living room?
I removed the fireplace from the middle of the room. Somehow we always found it rather annoying there when arranging the furniture. Also, it’s a bit more convenient for us to place the chimney flue on the exterior wall.
We don’t have that much stuff in the living room. But still, a lot does accumulate that needs to be stored, so the large built-in cabinet in the hallway seemed practical to us.
Putting the TV on the bottom wall of the plan will be difficult. We actually don’t want to change the windows because A) the view from those two windows is really great and B) the appearance of the building would suffer greatly.
I also prefer V2. For me, the dining table belongs to the kitchen and not the living room.
I think the sofa is well placed. I like it when the backrest serves as a kind of separation.
In V1, the dining table would be way too far from the kitchen for me.
Okay, it’s clearly heading towards V2. I kind of expected that.
I will probably take a centimeter or two from the office to get just over 5 meters in the living room.
Thanks for the responses.
