Thank you for your contributions. Okay, let's admit it, the door at the front to the carport is going out. Otherwise, I can’t really imagine a better layout in the extension, could someone draw it? It would definitely be in our interest if the niche for the washing machine/dryer would disappear again, as it caused us sleepless nights upstairs. If the stairs move 70cm back to the left according to the plan, then our bedroom could move back to the north again. Regarding storage: The plan is for rarely used items (keyword opened paint buckets) to be moved to the barn. There will also be cabinets there for seasonal decorations. The barn is dry and built like a cellar. Supplies, vacuum cleaners, and the like should then be accommodated in the pantry. The technical room is really just for the building services. I asked twice, according to the architect it should be fine. But I will have it drawn in anyway! There is no ventilation system. Corner windows are actually desired, but were apparently lost in the last revision. We did not want a window in the pantry because a freezer is supposed to be there. I am attaching the previous draft of the upper floor (back then the house was still a bit bigger). We liked the room layout better then.

Edit: Compared to the last floor plan for the upper floor, the staircase and bathroom would of course be swapped.

Also as a supplement to the last post: above all, I also see the topic of washing as a problem. In summer, okay, then I'm quickly outside. But in winter I don't have a real place to hang things up. Nothing is ironed here though.

What was the reason for this downsizing? (Costs can hardly have been the reason, since the corner extension remained).

I would prefer the term "control cabinet" here.

There are still bets that my sweetheart will soon break me of this bachelor habit.

The top has remained almost the same. You can still tweak it for another 3 weeks - here’s just an example of how it could be (please see as a sketch). Shoes and bags, a stroller could still park there before three schoolbags and sports bags have to park somewhere. The guest WC gets a window above the toilet, the utility room possibly also a terrace door if there is a washing machine. Wardrobe cabinets are 1.50 and 2.50.

Why and what exactly is that supposed to achieve here? Where and how do you want to expand to 10 sqm here? Sketch? I would also be interested in the sketch here, especially the cabinet in the guest bathroom.

On the stakeholder side, only you are involved in the discussion, and on the planning service side only the architect. So who then inserts something that causes you sleepless nights? Especially in the upper floor, which is the master-question floor in the planning. If that is not properly set, it also messes up the derived ground floor. Which actually brings us back to my questioning of the corner extension. Or rather, I dare to assume that it is not a result of the floor area budget, but a gimmick from the wish list (I read the corner windows as a hint). I would like to repeat my general note that fears of losing clever building forms are unfounded. No house becomes deadly unsexy just because you leave out the red leather mini. In your case, the constellation "front garden / barn / house way in the back" alone is enough to stand out noticeably. So even the "front-house-less back house" alone is unique—and would be so even as a shoebox. The "modern" way of planning, handling the variant discussion at the design level instead of at the preliminary design level, is a mistake that doesn’t get better through popularity. The "starting in third gear" is a misdevelopment! I agree with that. I would also rather suggest the traditional bedroom here. Burdening the floor area budget with a separate room where you do not look onto closet doors and making the bedroom into a storage room for a double bed limited to 1,000 furnishing variants does not seem desirable to me. Especially since no non-disturbance of the longer sleeper is achieved here, so it’s a case of nothing gained.
