Okay, well, we wanted the "washing" somewhere in the area of the technical room/wardrobe. Or there (for quick access outside) or upstairs in a separate small utility room.

Here you are actually wrong. It is actually the other way around. WE explicitly wanted a shoebox without bay windows etc. Because a) we like it and b) we wanted to get as many square meters as possible for as little money as possible. The first draft then had the flat roof extension for the technical room and co as well as a bay window in the kitchen. Also, by the way, a corner window in the office. The latter two points were removed immediately at our request, the architect more or less convinced us about the flat roof extension in front. The reason, as said, was our different space requirements on the ground floor and the upper floor.

We actually quite like "plain", that is, without bay windows etc. Maybe we’ll get back there.

However, we do find the walk-in closet in the bedroom quite nice.

Such different needs can also be balanced (and note, this can already be done in the preliminary design stage). Classic wildcards are, for example, storage rooms or guest rooms / work rooms. And when I read ...

... then I really feel challenged by the option of not accumulating all children's rooms on the same floor. Just switching one of the three children's rooms is a powerful game changer. It cannot be that an inequality in total area is an unavoidable result.

Yes, I understand. Then we probably have to take a step back. Moving one of the children's rooms downstairs is not an option for us. But I think it should be possible to integrate a cloakroom niche in the hallway on the ground floor and the technical room behind it. Then on the upper floor, a small utility room for washing and storage for towels and co. That way, only the separate cloakroom is lost from our nice-to-haves. In our opinion, it makes little sense without a second entrance.

It is even the one that is absolutely obvious. Especially if two of the three offspring do not yet exist at all. Depending on the age gap, K1 as a teenager will very or very much appreciate the distance from younger siblings. Unless you apply the trick with adoption, children have a "delivery time".

To be honest, I don’t really see why we should move a children’s room downstairs. We already have a higher space requirement on the ground floor than on the upper floor, so what use is moving the children’s room downstairs to me?

I am still having trouble interpreting the building envelope + property. Can you please outline your entire property in bold? Is the terrace right next to the south fence or does the lawn behind it also belong to you? Also, the exact dimensions of the building envelope - especially the smallest width - would be interesting. I would intuitively rotate the box by 90 degrees. But of course, that depends on the space.
