And "access road / path" is blocked due to a right of way of a rear property owner, so the garages cannot extend into it, even if you yourself enter from the north side?

The garages are intentionally planned to the north, as otherwise they would block the morning/noon sun for us. There is no right of way, but it must be possible to pass through with a truck, as this is the only access. We are basically building in our front yard.

How can you view floor plans or houses, e.g. from Nordlys? I can't find anything.

I had already thought that - well, then I can’t think of a better position for the garages. Well then, I’ll have a go at the floor plan. So, starting from the staircase banished from the hallway: move the guest toilet over, wall to wall with the kitchen. Swap office and bedroom, office with passage to the living room. Bathroom in the corner, utility room more towards the middle (because of the head height of the stairs with the hipped roof). Leave out the storage garage, instead add an extension at the back of the car garage - not so stingy either, 2.80 m driveway width is quite doable. The search function is not your friend: first, it lies, on the first try it often says there are no results. Second, Nordlys wrote a lot, so you have to dig deep. With Steffi33 you also have to dig relatively deep. Both write a lot on each other’s topics as well. Using "topics by" in the member profiles can refine that a bit. In the house pictures thread it is especially tedious to search for specific posts. Nordlys’s floor plan can be seen here:

Is the image aligned to north or is north rather rotated by about 15° according to the north triangle?

How far does the property go? Because I still see the question "Terrace in the south"... Question to those who know better... terraces are not allowed to be within the setback area either, right?

I would definitely say goodbye to the idea of renting out a garage. Nobody wants strangers on their property, and the rent wouldn’t bring in that much anyway. So plan for a nice approximately 4 meters width, enjoy arriving, and get large and deep shelves for the remaining space.
I also wouldn’t plan for a family. Plan for you two, resale can gladly happen to a couple... there are increasingly more of them...

Regarding the bungalow: that can be done better. Kerstin kbt09 will already be working on it ;)
The suggestion came up: swap the bedroom and the office. I would do that and also swap the utility room and the bathroom.
Office: do you want it cut off from the rest or rather close to the partner who’s watching TV in the living room?

I would rather give up a bit of hallway space and go through a central living unit. At 50 years old, I appreciate short distances and also directness to be able to call the other or have eye contact between several zones.
What tends to be judged worse over the years is tightness and the obligation to squeeze around something because it’s so tight and convoluted.
