Hello everyone,

after the great help with the floor plan planning ( ) (thank you!) the floor plan is now set and it's time to fine-tune the window planning on the ground floor
It is a so-called linked house, meaning no windows are possible on the right side (basically like a semi-detached house). Therefore, it is all the more important that the existing possibilities are used optimally.

Attached is the current plan. We are actually quite satisfied with the windows on the north side (kitchen) (about 80cm high horizontal windows), although suggestions for improvement are of course also welcome!

However, there is still potential for improvement on the south side; we just can't find a good solution. The couch corner is important to us, as is the TV opposite it. But that makes it difficult to optimally position the windows, since a TV directly in front of a window is not ideal either. In the current proposal, we fear that the couch corner might become too dark?!

We would really be very grateful for suggestions or impulses concerning the window planning.

Many thanks in advance for your help!

I would make a large window front, not this patchwork with the two different window sizes. On the left almost up to the west wall and continuous as far as you want on the right; a sliding door or two movable units on the right and left and fixed in the middle.

I would do it like this:

the fixed elements on the upper floor without a central bar. I have seen it live a few times now and it looks great.

I would like that much better too!

The change to the upper windows also immediately makes a snappier impression - a small thing, but a big effect!

However, I would plan the middle as a fixed element and both sides as sliding doors, then you can access the terrace directly from both the living room and the dining area.

Or more in the direction of a city villa look. Lets Make Französische Balkone Great again.

and the glass front from the first case could also financially stretch the budget a bit

The option is only for occasional TV viewers – otherwise better to arrange the living area as in the first example, despite the changed windows.
