You seem to like it quite convoluted, judging by the new floor plans with the attached little chambers.

Exactly. We don't like open living spaces. The storage room on the upper floor is a lightweight partition wall. It can also be removed if needed. The house is also intended to serve as two residential units later on.

In my opinion, this might be possible internally. But not separated.

Are such large dormers allowed?

Well, I can still understand that. It’s probably about letting the kids have breakfast in the kitchen in the morning or having visitors sitting there sometimes.
The family breakfast on Sunday is done at the dining table, not at the kitchen island. It also makes no sense to design a kitchen for that if there’s action going on, the extractor hood running at full power, the blender spinning, two ovens on. I don’t need anyone sitting there, watching, and making smart remarks.

An acquaintance is a cook and prepares food for 10 people in 10m², 7 courses with a 60cm cooktop and one oven. Those who can cook don’t need much.

Finally someone who knows what they’re talking about! That’s exactly our intention. Currently we live in 70sqm and the kitchen is also 10sqm in the rental apartment. We cook a lot and fresh daily, as we also supply others in the rental building.
