Why???? Arguments? Hallway?! Not yours... it is way too small. No, I am only criticizing the location relative to the kitchen. You can also plan your party area near the kitchen if that is so important to you. But apart from that: I don’t know any mid-twenties who still throw garage parties ;) That’s why you build a house with a large open space so you can spread out there with guests and on the terrace. But I don’t want to talk you out of your ideas. Everyone is different. But: I’ll gladly repeat it again: Your garage with the long tube is crap. I wonder what the architect was thinking. Is he paid according to HOAI? Then write down your concerns for him, because he owes you a design with improvements. That’s how it works.

I would definitely turn the garage into a carport, with a shed attached at the back with a passageway to the garden - then it is also more weatherproof again and optimal for parties.

The entrance area gets almost no light at all, it will be very, very dark!

Discretion was the keyword (parcel delivery service, guests at the front door, etc.), although none of us suffer from stomach problems…

As a layperson, it is difficult to imagine the size of the rooms without dimensions.

I have to agree with you, it also always depends on the type of celebration. In my opinion, a garage is also a kind of man cave.

We definitely will not keep the long tube. We will think about it ourselves again, consider a few designs with the tips from the forum, and then approach him. The architect was paid an honorarium for the design planning.

Sufficient is not what people are looking for. Otherwise, every second person would be driving around in a VW Up. No idea what you imagine as the rent amount, but even at €400 (which I absolutely cannot imagine for this miniature apartment, unless you build it in Munich), after 6 years you would come out with not even €30,000 gross(!). Of course, you also have to pay taxes on that. So practically nothing is left. Apparently, there are still people who can convince themselves that a rented granny flat is profitable... Good luck! Regarding the floor plan: Dining area way too tight. Pantry makes no sense. Remove the stub wall. I find the upper floor well done.

Thank you for your contribution to the floor plan. I am satisfied with my VW Up, an economical means of transportation. It is enough for me to get from A to B.
