The double access robs you of peace and privacy on the property. It’s not just the parking space that matters, but especially the path along your terrace. The delivery person is always running there with packages to the front door. Visitors, caregivers, or cleaning help also constantly ring the doorbell. Regarding the fireplace: Sorry, but I have to point out the absurdity of the situation again. Exactly where you expect great freedom to the garden and everyone installs oversized glass doors, you want to build a thick wall with a fireplace. Besides the loss of light, the path is also blocked. It’s not worth it.

After checking several times, it is not quite clear to me which property we are talking about.

I actually thought it was the one outlined in purple and 497/9 is basically the second street to the north, over which the main house entrance is also accessed. And on the right is the granny flat with parking space and terrace.

I don’t understand the text "our property" and the small blue box at all right now.

No, it is the corner property, otherwise I wouldn’t have written “our property” there. The purple outlined one is the neighbor’s and, based on the floor plan, obviously not our house design. The screenshot of the site plan is from the neighbor’s building application, and I used it because the future neighbor’s house to the north is already drawn in there and the neighbor’s house to the west on 500/5 is also correctly shown. The site plan I have is somewhat outdated by now and I preferred a correct and to-scale depiction rather than scribbling on the site plan myself. Sorry that this caused confusion.

The blue box would be the potential parking space for the granny flat, accessible from the other street to the south. The garage for the main house, on the other hand, would be accessed from the street to the west.

Are you also assuming the access path to the granny flat comes from the other purple-bordered property? “Along the terrace” makes me think that the same misunderstanding might be at play here. Even with the actual layout, I could imagine that the granny flat parking space might be annoying, but I find the path to the granny flat along the fence of the eastern neighbor to be rather unproblematic with corresponding planted privacy screening.

I would like to postpone the fireplace topic for now until we have been to the fireplace builder on Saturday.
