Wow, I haven’t seen this wood imitation like that before. To be honest not quite my taste, but definitely unusual and special, and for that I’m always up. Holland (and Belgium) seem to be excellently positioned anyway when it comes to fireplace surrounds, many other antiques and historic building elements, with lots of interesting dealers.

I have noticed that the entrance to the main apartment does not meet with approval here, but you have to explain to me what is still supposed to be wrong with the porch (and at a corner plot probably even more "wrong" than on the previously misunderstood plot).

No.
Well, I said it. It's not my problem.

I think you should just put the plan completely aside and start a completely new one. Just to loosen up your entrenched viewpoints. Set yourselves the goal, for example, to provide both parties with one access road.

Regarding privacy: this can be achieved through the design of the garden when it comes to shielding from the street view.
Regarding the location of the living room: Surely it is rather unusual not to design it with lots of light and a view to the outside, but it is a conscious decision to make this area somewhat more “cave-like.” I lived for a few months in an adobe house in New Mexico. There, the “dark” living room worked very well - although the lighting conditions and climatic circumstances are not comparable to anything we have in Central Europe. It’s not my thing - but that doesn’t mean anything.
Have fun with the fireplace builder. Be open and don’t anticipate the result through your questions.

Yes, that would be okay if it were not the only access to the terrace. The fact that everyone always has to run past the already narrow dining table cannot be seriously considered.

If I provide access to both parties with one driveway, either one party will have to pass the other right at the front door (which we don't want) or I completely cut up the garden area. The garden is supposed to stay oriented to the south. We deliberately chose the corner plot because on the south and west sides, the (small and quiet) streets border the garden instead of neighbors. An access along the neighbor’s property with a hedge on the left side as a visual screen to the rest of the garden, in my view, only slightly narrows the plot and therefore doesn’t seem that dramatic to me. As mentioned, a parking space could also easily be removed at that spot.
