You shouldn't expect corrections from either type of architect / "architect":
a) not from the architect, because you shouldn't show up with finished templates but rather let them develop a design themselves, and
b) not from the "architect" aka draftsman* because their job is purely to finalize the client's wishes to stamp-ready condition - expressly without doing anything that might offend the brilliant amateur designer.

*) when respectfully calling draftsmen "architects," I always think of the advertising of a manufacturer of instant patties that says: "don´t call it 'Schnitzel'" *LOL*

Well, it may be that you are not so sun-loving, but for me the house belongs on the other property boundary to the east (unless there is a view, a slope, or it will remain undeveloped for the foreseeable future, etc.).

Attached is the sun position clock (I only quickly have the one for Stuttgart, you are building further east, so everything happens about 20 minutes earlier) overlaid:

So on the terrace there is no sun after about 3 pm. Only the outermost NE corner of the property gets sun again from about 6 pm.

I would also place the house differently and additionally rotate it. Entrance from the east, living area with south and west windows. This way you also gain an additional "private" garden and the path from the parking space to the entrance is as short as possible. You should find it easier to handle the floor plan that way.

Würfel was 10 minutes faster than me ...

Advantages: - Sun on the terrace (fully) from 12 until sunset. If you build a corner terrace from 7:30 until sunset - Entrance on the long side saves long corridors and the rooms can be arranged more nicely (this is also how many proven standard floor plans are designed)

P.S.: Our house has the terrace on the SSE side, only about 10° rotated from south to east. Since there is no sun on the terrace after 6 pm, we have now built a second one on the north side. But "moving" is always annoying!

For example, take a look at the Town & Country country house 142 or Bodensee 129 as a pool of ideas.

First of all, thanks for the input! I had actually ruled that out for two reasons so far.

1) We are only allowed to cover one side with photovoltaics. With the roof orientation, that would mean either only east or only west.

2) Our neighbor to the west built directly up to the property line. On the other side – to the east – the neighbor built as far away from us as possible and in addition, there is a slope on their property, so their house is 1-1.5m lower than ours. That means there is hardly any shading from their side. We once stood on our property in the afternoon and thought about where to put the terrace. But due to our neighbor to the west, everything was in the shade there. Does that make sense?

And 3) I still don’t know where the other neighbor will build their house (property no. 2). If I’m unlucky and they also build up to the border, I either have their house in the way or their terrace right in front of my nose. And that’s not a great neighbor…
