I'm not sure whether it's worse to go against the Feng Shui consultant or the safety regulations

That couldn’t have happened in this household. I’m not into esotericism.
But your comment is absolutely understandable. I will use the weekend to find a reliable source.

Flowers and oranges are totally overrated. The cooktop will be a Miele TwoInOne with integrated extractor fan (and due to the controlled residential ventilation with recirculation). We don’t want a huge hood over the island...

We’ve tweaked a bit again after the suggestions here and our dissatisfaction with the position of the fireplace. What do you think? I’m ducking already.

so I just don't like this narrow spot at the stairs. I would really think it over again or somehow simulate it.

So we don't want a huge wardrobe anyway. The staircase is open, so you can also place a shoe cabinet or something similar underneath. I don't even have to simulate that because we have seen this exact entrance area several times in a show home. If you feel like it, you can take a look at the 360-degree tour of the VIO in Cologne on the Fingerhaus website.

You should move the SW corner in the kitchen to the hallway. So the hallway wall is aligned, and the kitchen unit is also installed. Then I would relocate the tall cabinets in the kitchen to one side; the door area is bad, maybe to the exterior wall? That way you have more freedom when it comes to furnishing the office room. Then I would strongly avoid using an open staircase as a cloakroom space. Dirt falls from open steps, and it always, always, always looks messy and will always be that way. It’s better to wall off/cover the bottom of the staircase, put in a room door and use it as a wardrobe closet; you have space for that if the corner in the hallway disappears. Regards
