My wife works in the judiciary. You wouldn't believe what kind of stories you hear from the inheritance department, among other things. It sometimes goes so far that siblings have their parents' house auctioned off, thus putting their own mother/father on the street because they cannot pay out the inheritance share. I really don't recommend trusting only the good relationship. It can end very badly. But to each their own...I thought it was unnecessary to mention that such an approach is, of course, watertight documented with a notarized contract. Apart from that, there are more than enough examples where friendship does not end over money. But you only hear/read about the negative cases. It's the same as with renting. On the internet, everyone always knows someone who has or had problems with rent cheats, etc. But those are only a few thousand per year. The many millions of positive cases are gladly ignored.
