That just knocked me off my chair.

The first proper gas bill for over 365 days arrived 15 minutes ago via mailman.

4,774 kWh.

For about 135 sqm.

And I like it warm. So in our place it’s 22 to 23 degrees.

Meaning including hot water.
About 35 kWh/sqm/a in heating consumption (not primary energy and so on).
The calculation for the place was significantly higher. >> 50.

And that in a basically self-built KFW-70. Apparently I did everything right.

The municipal utilities wanted to lower the installment to 40/month, I just wrote them and asked to keep the previous 50,-.

We can estimate the little fireplace wood with about another 400 kWh. Nevertheless, this shows me how effective even a house with comparatively poor energy rating is.

I’m as happy as a king in snow right now.

Is the 4,774 kWh now also including hot water, or? The guideline is supposed to be 2.3 kWh per day and person, so for 2 people approximately 1,700 kWh, or are you rather economical?

Do you have a ventilation system with heat recovery?

Hello Grym,

yes, that is the value including hot water generation. We have a small thermal solar system for hot water without heating support. And a controlled residential ventilation system with heat recovery.

For the consideration of the thermal solar share, I recently wrote a post here.

Excerpt: Average thermal solar so far 2.2 kWh/day.
For hot water we need (gas) about 4.5 kWh/day (if thermal solar is not supporting). Thus, your mentioned benchmark (which I did not know) is correct.

Best regards
Thorsten

The heating costs in a new building are totally irrelevant compared to all the additional costs. Even the state takes more than the heating. And at least with heating, you get something out of it. With around 350€ for all additional costs, 40 or 50€ for a warm place doesn't matter either.

Is there also a receipt for this?

Of course. All data is on the invoice.
However, I will not upload it here.

I guarantee you, though: my statement is not made up.
