We have now finished the floor plans and now the topic of electrical planning begins. I estimate that a few pencils + erasers will be used up. Do you have any tips on what is often forgotten and what should be paid attention to? The basis will be the Busch-Jäger Free@Home system. In the first step, I want to plan the sockets, then gradually the rest.

Unfortunately, we forgot the connections for the sound system and are now annoyed that we have the cables visibly in an unsightly way.

Otherwise, we did it so that we marked sockets and co. on the floor plan and then discussed them later with the electrician during the shell construction.

Always at least one double combo in every corner of the room... left and right of the bed in the bedroom as well... in every room 1x Sat and 2x network in the living room then at least double behind the TV and there not three or four sockets but 8-10... remember the Christmas lights and plan at least one socket at every window... in the kitchen also at least two in every corner and under the sink / behind the fridge also over the cabinets at least two... don’t forget outside two at the terrace and in the entrance area and also on the opposite side of the house... you always need power outdoors as well... attic also sockets in every corner... in the utility room then for all devices and additionally 2-3 free ones

Hi, here are the points we paid attention to:

- Power outlet + network in the attic (in case it is ever converted, like a home theater or hobby room)
- Sound flush-mounted wiring for kitchen, living room, dining room (5.1 living room, 1 speaker dining room, 1 kitchen)
- Network = TV of the future -> We have a network connection everywhere we want to watch TV, because of services like Amazon Prime or Netflix
- Children's room 2 network connections (1 near the TV, 1 at the desk area)
- Preparation for power supply to the carport (the electrician has already laid a cable outside)
- Preparation for intercom, doorbell, garden gate opener
- 2 power outlets in the HAR, where router, NAS, patch panel etc. will be placed

Morning,

I don't know the Bj system, so my ideas are only through "my own perspective."

We only did the electrical planning once the shell construction was complete.

In the old apartment, we looked at the sockets. Which ones made sense, which ones were pointless.

We forgot the socket next to the front door.

Stairwell: The light downstairs can also be switched from upstairs, the upper light also from downstairs. Our electrician didn’t understand at all what that was supposed to be good for.

If SAT, then remember the properly installed equipotential bonding! It is often forgotten or badly installed!

Personally, I have no switch in the house, everything is a push button with a dimmer in the distribution. (Home automation).

What is also quite nice with us: Light in the garage and garage door can be controlled by a push button from the house.
The garage has both Ethernet and Sat. You never know.

Ethernet and Sat in every room except the guest WC and bathroom.

There is a sub-distribution in the garage where the outdoor cables go for lights, gate, etc.

Outdoor lighting:
- We installed up-down spotlights on the plaster facade.
- My neighbor illuminates his house from below. I like that better. No risk of dirt and somehow it looks really cool!

Cheers, torsan

cool, I also forgot the socket next to the front door inside and the wall was already plastered - but I will chase the chases tomorrow, because that would annoy me a lot later.

Multimedia connections including speakers behind the TV/AV_Receiver are mandatory, but please no socket orgies where a lowboard or similar will stand later anyway. Use a nice power strip and enjoy the saved costs. We only have two sockets there, but with speaker and network stuff etc. there are two rows with a total of 12 socket holes....

We also illuminate the clinker discreetly with up/down lights, but the plaster facade also gets two floor lamps.

I can only recommend making a plan beforehand, but finalizing it only during the shell construction phase, because then the true imagination comes!
