Very light purple, almost pink.

I don’t understand why they have two product names. They look the same anyway. Anyway, I actually want to repurpose them* and it would of course be good if they stay at the height where I want them. Hm. I need to think about it again. I would want to avoid side pull for cat reasons, since the blind is on the floor.

* I need to cover an 80 cm wide kitchen cabinet, to which no doors fit, against grease splashes in front of the stove. The cabinet is temporary, it would be fine for a year. The alternative is a shower curtain, but buuuuh, they are ugly. The back side of the blinds, on the other hand, would be suitable. Need to think about it.

Don’t the creatures scratch the blind? Would an aluminum blind be something? Oh no, that also has a cord. Hanging oilcloth in front, but it just looks a bit cheap. Just wiping it off quickly isn’t really possible with the Ikea blackout blinds. How can a wardrobe not fit any doors?

Oilcloth was the first idea, doesn’t work well as a curtain because of the bulky fabric. A shorten-able shower curtain is also still under consideration, but the patterns are always so awful. The back side of the blinds is rubberized, isn’t it?

Scratching wouldn’t be so dramatic and would be tolerable, but I don’t accept the risk of hanging during roughhousing.

Why no door works, I can show later. It’s only a temporary solution until we can buy a real kitchen after renovation. Whenever that happens.

The blinds are relatively thin compared to other blackout blinds. They therefore give way a lot when wiping without an underlay and could possibly bulge a little over time.

Popping out dents wouldn't be so bad either. It would just be a temporary solution until we could install a proper kitchen in 2017... hopefully.

But because of handling, we might just use an ugly shower curtain after all, hmm. It's supposed to be made of plastic.

Attached is a picture showing why doors are not possible:

It will be an 80x37 cabinet, in which we will place items at the back/right that we don’t need all the time (casserole dishes, roasting pans, picnic dishes, etc.) and on the left drinks and cat food. In front then a curtain or roller blind so that everything doesn’t get splattered from the stove.
The cabinet will be placed in the middle next to the 40x60 cabinet, because of the heating pipes and valves behind it and because otherwise we wouldn’t have good access to the interior because of the stove (which is also why no 60 deep cabinet). Doors wouldn’t work either if the 37 deep cabinet stood right against the wall at the back, because then it would be hard to reach past it (see photo).

It’s anything but a nice situation, I know. Primarily it’s about the countertop on top, since currently we only have a 30 depth there and it’s getting tight with the kettle, coffee machine, etc.

Yes, sliding doors would be good... well. And honestly, if I already need a partial curtain, then I won’t buy a door and hinges and maybe a handle. Especially since the wardrobe with a door couldn’t stand as far forward as without (otherwise it wouldn’t open).
