Oh sh.... Those aren’t just a few cracks. You can see every joint.

However, the plaster seems to have been somewhat reworked already, meaning the settlement cracks appear to have been scraped out. I would have been interested in a photo with wallpaper. Maybe she still has one, , which you can post for us, Frank?

We are currently painting all the rooms ourselves. In terms of effort, I find it okay so far. Since some of you have "only" painted directly on the plaster, I would be interested to know how you solved the issue with the edge protection / rails (transition between wall & window reveal)? You can't really get paint properly on the rails and the aluminum always shows through.

No, with good wall paint the metal edges are also covered. Even with a single coat

We are currently painting all the rooms in our new building ourselves, but a uncle is wallpapering the woodchip wallpaper; we can't do that ourselves. Painting the woodchip wallpaper is actually quite easy, but in some places we had to paint twice because the paint did not cover properly. What was very tedious, however, was priming all the rooms with primer and then painting everything white so that the wallpaper sticks to the plaster. We somehow completely underestimated this effort; it took a very long time because the primer and the white paint basically soaked completely into the plaster, making the painting very tedious.

The deep primer must also penetrate into the plaster.

We did it with a spray lance and at the same time someone went along with a brush and stroked over it. It then goes quite quickly.
