Yes, of course I was aware of that when I bought it. I had also calculated about 50 sqm and assumed that 80 sqm would be enough. But now it doesn't matter, I probably have painted over it more often anyway.

What is worse:
I did not prime. I simply didn't know, or thought it wasn't necessary (only for concrete, the interior plasterers didn't say anything about it)... but now someone else mentioned it to me.

Second mistake: I probably should have used dispersion silicate paint (instead of dispersion paint)!? The posts on the internet are not very clear.

What do you think?

I now have some concerns that the moisture that might still be in the plaster/masonry cannot escape anymore and mold will form, and that the paint will peel off because it was not primed.

By the way, it is a lime-cement plaster.

That will be dry. Dispersion paints are not completely watertight, they are not varnish. I painted our utility room twice with sto basic, without primer, nothing peels, nothing molds.

Why prime at all? You don't have to. With concrete, you can apply a primer, but that's not absolutely necessary either.

Someone must have driven me a bit crazy. I then read that you need a primer for porous, sandy, chalky walls. The lime-cement plaster was already very dusty when you wiped over it with your hand. Therefore...

But I also just checked the technical data sheet of the paint. It says: No primer is necessary for lime-cement plaster. *Happy*

The plaster is a good 4 weeks old. That also fits according to the description (should be at least 4 weeks old).

So it seems I did everything right after all.

Thanks to you all!

While painting, you always partially roll over the already painted area. If the paint has already dried a bit, this creates a small paint edge, somewhat like when you stagger sheets of paper on top of each other. If the "sharp edge" faces the light, it’s not a big deal, but the other way around it casts a shadow, which you can see. Essentially the same principle explains why you wallpaper away from the light.
