then you will hardly get through anymore and the facade could also turn green. Espalier fruit would be pretty but that is gardening for advanced gardeners. It requires a lot of knowledgeable care.
I would probably plant [Wein]. In summer it grows thick and with beautiful leaves and also bears fruit. In autumn the leaves turn colorful and then fall off. In winter it is unfortunately bare. [Wein] attracts many insects and birds. At my workplace, we let [Wein] grow along the window in front. During Corona, a window was always open and the birds chirped in the [Wein] all day and stole berries. :D
Ok, then no bushes. I would have to check on the vine. It would have to grow on the fence. On the facade it wouldn't be so favorable. Simply very difficult. Or I would really have to concentrate on perennials. What do you think about grasses? Of course mixed with other plants?
Why no bushes? I would choose a mixed hedge, all kinds of shrubs. Weigela, forsythia, [Schneeball], dogwood, lilac... Nice and dense along the fence and let them grow through. You can prune them so that they grow narrow, so you can still get through.
Serviceberry grows to 7 meters and is very sprawling.
I would also plant some bushes like . Most are also available in mini size, about 70 to 100 cm high and wide. They can all be pruned. Alternating with evergreen bushes, either Euonymus, boxwood, or those with red berries in winter… possibly combined with ground cover.
Aronia (chokeberry) would also be suitable in terms of size; you can harvest them. They are tasty and rich in vitamins.
There are flowering hedges or bird protection hedges available in sets that are relatively inexpensive. However, I do not want to have to go there to prune every year. Eventually, you will have to prune once or twice a year.
