Yes, unfortunately it becomes leggy quickly. But pork tenderloin in lavender sauce is a delight.

The question about what = perennials was clarified, just for the sake of completeness:

Hibiscus needs a lot of water during flowering, so it is also demanding if you don't want to install irrigation

Yellow and pink? Ilex gets red berries. By the way, it is also not suitable for a heated south-facing wall; it is actually a forest tree and prefers somewhat moister, shadier conditions and likes acidic soil. If you leave it alone, it will become a huuuuge, beautiful tree...

There are hollies with yellow and orange berries, but maybe there are good reasons why we mostly see holly with red berries here.

Yellow and pink also refers to the honeysuckle. I will try it with yellow holly and pink honeysuckle if there is a suitable selection for my locations.

I would work with a seed mix. Ideally a wildflower mix and a few shrubs.

With the wildflower mixes, you should make sure they really contain native wild plants. I don’t know where you are in Germany, but there are several providers. You could check with Naturgarten e.V.
These mixes need to be mowed once or twice a year and otherwise they come back for years. The appearance changes every year.

I am a big fan of Witt and would recommend "Natur für jeden Garten" by Witt to anyone who wants to garden in an insect- and animal-friendly way. I’ve probably read 20 gardening books, but this is simply the best for me.

If you decide on a hedge, it could also be a wildlife protection hedge / bird protection hedge, where you can sow a border.

I have researched a lot and written about this topic, but I don’t want to get banned. It is rumored that my profile picture could be used to find me.

Best regards! This could turn into something really great

Thank you. The wildflower meadow sounds great, the problem is that I cannot mow that area because there are lamps in it. You probably can't see that well in the pictures. It will probably come down to perennials.

But remember that after the flowering season nothing remains of the plants, as they either die back or have to be cut off. That’s not nice either.
