Yep, that's missing. You really don't need a heated towel rail with 3.4 sqm floor space - not to mention the space. The rest is "small stuff". This is usually the deal-breaker in old buildings. Just running them straight across the room becomes a big problem (wastewater). Often, you only have a few centimeters of screed on the concrete.

I think you have at least done more than any uninformed person by contacting three different companies. If they independently tell you it could cost 15k€, then it will probably be in that range. Renovating and refurbishing is always (disproportionately or not) more expensive than just replacing.

That is not a bathroom size that "normal" companies enjoy. A lot of work and mess in a small area with low earning potential. Hence the correspondingly high price. Find a small craftsman through MyHa... or similar.
The one-man business has much more fun with such a job and will offer it significantly cheaper.

First of all, many thanks for the detailed and helpful answers.

I am also using other trades in the apartment – you just think it's easier to do everything in question before moving in. Other craftsmen ultimately say that it is mainly due to the current situation in the construction industry – in other words, more work than craftsmen results in higher prices.

In no way can I spend 15k euros on a (mini) bathroom. Sure, doing it yourself helps. But you either need the skills or the time – preferably both. I also think that there is no other option than to go through a portal. I will probably have to give up on relocating the washbasin.

So a man alone easily needs 2-3 days to gut the old bathroom. That leaves 9. Then straighten the walls. So plastering or drywall. Another 3 days gone. Remaining 6. Level the screed. 0.5 days, let's leave that out. Rough installation also takes 1-2 days. Pre-wall installation including drywall takes one day. One day for tiling, half a day for grouting. Next with the bathroom furniture.

14 days for one person is nothing at all. Then costs and time for travel. Disposal of old material. Towel radiator is also expensive and not small change. Sorry, but bathroom usually means expensive. Your bathroom furniture is decent, but nothing "special". My wife wanted a special basin and such a great curved washbasin including vanity unit. What can I do? The budget allowed it. And we had a plumber who worked with relatively low surcharge.

Conclusion: 15k for a brand new bathroom from A-Z is simply realistic nowadays.

Take a weekend, a buddy, and tools, and the bathroom is gutted. Another weekend and another buddy, and you have straight walls in drywall. That helps massively save money. Always in consultation with the plumber. I found a self-employed tiler through the well-known portal. He communicated well with the plumber and was the second-best trade in my renovation. You can also have just the rough installation done by the plumber (if he cooperates). Install the basin, etc. yourself. Be flexible. Say: if you have some free time from time to time, come and do it. Then he takes it as filler work. It takes longer but works to his advantage.
