Yes, and what if you declare a different primary residence but still always stay in the house? Somehow I still find that very abstract and Google doesn't provide anything on serious consequences after a quick search.

Whether and when the municipality takes action seems to be pure luck. The political winds can change quickly.

You don’t have to be afraid of this forum, but of the dear neighbors. It’s enough if someone finds your dog or your child too loud and the authorities will be unleashed on you. This threat exists completely independently of you. Some stupid neighborhood dispute about some chain-link fence and butterfly bush and in the end all vacation homes get inspected.

What does the financing bank say about such a property, do they go along with it?

You always overlook the last sentence, don't you?

Not me. I wouldn't even think of such an idea. But everyone is the architect of their own fortune.

The person from whom I got my Volvo (yes, he's still diligently making his rounds, although nowadays more as a travel vehicle than a construction vehicle) also lived on such a recreational property. Although he didn’t have a new building but, in my opinion, half of a three- or four-sided farmstead. He said he had been living there for several years. Meanwhile, the authorities had once written that he was not allowed to live there permanently. And he simply ignored it. Presumably, he still lives there. Quote: "You’ll only get me out of here horizontally!"... Such a "toleration" seems to happen quite often. But the idea of building new in such an area wouldn’t occur to me now either.

Hello forum community,

now one more quick question. We would now be ready with another positively decided preliminary building inquiry and a new draft. Would it make sense to discuss the total project costs again here, or would you prefer to hold back on that, which I quite understand.
We have now prepared a total project cost statement for ourselves and are somewhat shocked by the result. But probably that is simply the case in the current situation and we would completely discard our plan with the calculated costs.
Perhaps we have approached the matter too pessimistically.
A factual discussion about the expected construction costs would actually be fundamentally helpful to us.
Ultimately, it is and remains our decision and responsibility to what extent we pursue the project under all the given circumstances or not. However, the existing property market is more than a complete catastrophe.

Oh yes, we have now reduced our floor plan to 120 sqm of living space and planned with a recessed floor.

Best regards

I can't quite imagine that right now. Show me the plans, please. Also the ones from the preliminary building inquiry are welcome.
