Hello,
after living in the house (new building) for some time now, I am currently dealing with the heating.
Among other things, we have a towel radiator (towel radiator) with a central connection that also runs through the underfloor heating. I now know that this is suboptimal.
What has prompted me to take action soon is the fact that the water in the tubes in the HKV is really yellow to brownish, which I attribute to rust on the towel radiator.
The question now is, what to do?
Two options come to mind:
- Switch to electric if possible. I have a power outlet right next to the towel radiator. Does this work with every towel radiator? I don’t know which model/manufacturer is installed. Is this doable for a layperson? Unfortunately, I have no knowledge of the matter.
So, an electric heating element or a completely new towel radiator.
- Disconnect the towel radiator so that it no longer runs through the underfloor heating and is only "decoration." What do I have to do for that? Simply turn it off at the connection with pliers?
What do you think?
