Believe me, I hope so too, sincerely! Well planned? Well... My emergency net is probably the family. And luckily, in Germany, as an employee, you are initially supported with continued payment of wages and sickness benefits. There is indeed a gap there, but a basic foundation is there.

First of all, I wish you all the strength imaginable to get through this, which I wish for you as a family together.

First, settle with yourself and the diagnosis. And maybe then is the right time to accept tips or similar. The book The Anti-Cancer Diet helped me a lot. Especially on the subject of breast cancer. I have a family history too and was looking for a way to do everything within my power to prevent its occurrence, which of course is only possible to a limited extent...

And maybe I can take away your fear that you will never get insurance again... I also fell through the entire insurance network. At some point, my employer offered a disability insurance without health questions through Generali. It is of course not the cheapest insurance with the highest payout, but at least I have disability insurance now. And in case of emergency, I will be able to live well on 1800 €. Along with the loan, we took out a residual debt insurance and an insurance that covers loan installments in case of incapacity to work. So if I get sick, I can first live off sick pay and then disability insurance. The other insurance will then cover the installments, so the house can also be maintained. And my husband is still there too.

Then you only need legal protection insurance to enforce all that (-;

Well, it definitely seemed that way to me when I read your posts :D.

I can only dream of such reserves as well. But having them is certainly good and very reassuring!

Are so many people doing well? We simply did not go to the maximum. No new interior design, no outdoor facilities by the gardener and landscaper, no KNX, built rather plainly for forum standards. 2 full-time, 1 child, older

My parents thankfully forced me to take out a BU at the end of my studies, because you don’t get any healthier. Two years later, I had a car accident that would probably have resulted in exclusion of all orthopedic problems in the back area. And yes, we are both insured in such a way that the survivor can get by with part-time work until the children are of age.

Some have to! In the worst case, we could rely neither on financial nor personal help (e.g., in caring for our child) from the family. In my opinion, this has nothing to do with doing well. Everyone has personal reasons why they secure themselves the way they do. Whether the plan then works out in case of damage is a completely different matter.
