I want to join in, I wish you lots of strength and that you can overcome the illness. All the very best!

As a single person, of course, the financing rests on my shoulders. If such an illness were to affect me now, I would also have a serious problem. For a while, I could probably compensate for the loss of income, and the family would also support me (and would be able to do so).

I have not secured the case of my death. Why should I, the father of the kids has his own house. They would live with him anyway.

You are too young for cancer - I am very sorry about that!!!

I am currently planning my financing, RLVs are completed. We also have both BUs, but they would not be enough to keep the house for a long time. At that amount, the BU would be too expensive for me.

I intend to hold back enough capital to be able to serve the banks for 5 years....

Dear Winniefred, I can contribute little on the topic, but I wish you all the best and above all a speedy recovery. Consider yourself hugged!

It also deeply affects me to read that from you. Surely you can’t hear it anymore, but from me as well: all the best, stay strong, don’t give up! Today we signed our financing and are now at the point of securing it. I have a very good occupational disability insurance, with which we could cover the rate plus incidental costs. My husband doesn’t have one; it was too expensive for him. Additionally, we now want to take out an insurance for the loan. One thing is that in case of doubt you can still financially save yourself for a certain time (e.g., by liquidating insurances), but that also means you have to take care of it. At a time when your mind is elsewhere anyway.

All the best and lots of strength to you and your family from me as well. There are also so-called Dread Disease insurances (Absicherung gegen schwere Krankheiten) that one can consider as a supplement to disability insurance. Especially in the context of real estate financing. Because these insurances pay an agreed one-time sum when the insured disease occurs. There are now several providers in Germany that offer such policies.
