You have given me a lot to research and think about.
Today not much groundbreaking came out at the clinic, I now have to wait almost another week until everything is certain. However, the signs are increasing that I might manage with a few months of [AU] and if we are talking about a period of less than 6 months, then we will probably get by without initiating major changes. It looks like it will be possible without chemo, which is the best news for me at all.
We can change our repayment twice for free, I still know that, I paid attention to that back then. But that would be more of an ultima ratio for me; I would rather turn other screws first.
And I have to honestly admit one thing. Although I had basically thought about illness/unemployment or death before the mortgage financing, when it gets concrete, you are completely unprepared. And exactly this moment – when you first think in detail about the concrete situation that has occurred – shows you how little idea you had before and how superficial the previous considerations were. When I read here in the forum about the amounts sometimes financed on much shakier constructions, I can only strongly advise everyone to inform themselves much better.
