I totally understand that, only one thing doesn’t quite make sense to me: If you have nothing to do with it or don’t want/can’t deal with it... doesn’t regular maintenance make sense then? With a car, you also go for service and don’t just get the first oil change done and then say well, that’s enough for 20 years?

The warranty part does make sense though, if you want to bind customers as a manufacturer you should offer a long warranty... and if it’s linked to the maintenance

How much did the repair cost? Was that mentioned

I still don’t know what the repair will cost. I am still waiting for the quote. However, I would like to point out once again that the damage probably didn’t occur because something broke down over the years that would have been noticed during maintenance, but rather because things were not properly sized and configured from the start. It would have been very likely that the wrong things, which were neither detected during installation nor during the first maintenance, would have remained unnoticed.

Aha. It would be news to me that an electric car no longer needs oil in the transmission. That must be the next step. And if electric cars run so flawlessly... then why can’t I get an appointment at Seat anymore, and the workshop manager keeps telling me that there are already 5 electric vehicles in the yard that have priority because they broke down? By the way, the Mercedes workshop manager tells my father-in-law the same thing ;) But well, it’s good that we’re talking about it. You could still check the oil yourself. Also the charge of your 12V lead-acid battery. How do you determine the state of charge of your 400V battery? Without any sensors? Exactly… and then the workshop manager later tells you, "Well, you should have checked it yourself? You can get a multimeter at Obi, after all?"

I once read that with electric cars it's always software. Today my electric car didn't accept the charging cable 50 times. On the 51st time it worked. Well, Renault after all.

Actually, the point is, of course, that everything is checked during maintenance, and every time... whether the expert would have found it is of course unknown. On the topic of e-cars, I won’t say anything; percentage-wise, the failure rate is almost the same as the classic ICE or even somewhat better according to ADAC statistics.
