There were studies where split units and monos were subjected to aging and I think they came up with between 50,000 and 100,000 starts before the compressor failed... with 3,000 per year, which would be a lot, the pump would still last 17-18 years and then "only the outdoor unit" is defective I don't see it as that critical

I can only deny the foot warm thing, our supply temperature is 23 degrees... my better half complains she would like warmer feet ;)

Permanent foot warmth only occurs at high flow temperatures. In our home, the floor does not feel warm.

Yes and no. I do feel the difference when I go barefoot from the heated hallway into the unheated bedroom. Both are parquet. Of course, it’s not really warm anymore on the tiles either, but where should it be with a flow temperature of 30 degrees.

Well, let's not exaggerate. In winter with subzero temperatures, you certainly don't have a flow temperature of 23 but rather between 27 and 32 degrees. And then you can really feel that the tile is warm. But that is very pleasant and not comparable to the past in houses from the 90s with underfloor heating. And regarding the heat pump: maintenance is not mandatory depending on the manufacturer. I have Novelan and for the warranty commitment no maintenance is required like with a car. Almost nothing is done anyway because it is maintenance-free. Your starts are intense. I have 8000 in 5 years and that is also a lot because in the first year without optimization I had 4000.

However, with maintenance, you might not have had a broken compressor, as a technician would probably have noticed that you had so many starts.

We did one maintenance. But then no further maintenance. At this first maintenance, it should have been noticed.
